Democratising Live Events in the Metaverse with Virtually Live Media
35:41
Our next guest on Amata World Podcast is Dr Jamil El-Imad, scientist, inventor and entrepreneur who has been working on the Metaverse since 2008. He and his team created a prototype Metaverse for the principality of Monaco for tourism, over 15 years ago. From this work Jamil and his colleague, Jesus, created and patented Virtually Live which allows fans to experience live events. With Virtually Live you would be able to race with Formula E drivers, while the race is still on in real life or attend a football game and watch the game live from any point of view with your friends from around the world. Jamil has numerous inventions and patents in VR and in brain-computer interfaces (BCI). He is also a Honorary Senior Research Fellow, at Imperial College London and is a frequent speaker at international scientific forums such as TED, the Financial Times US Health Summit, Princeton Envision and The Royal Albert Hall.
This episode dives into Jamil's vast background and his journey to building, arguably, the most exciting media for live events in the 21st century. We talk about his background and discuss some of his current projects. We also touch on his hopes and predictions for the future of the Metaverse and some of the other exciting disruptive technologies he’s working on.
Each week we are releasing an episode in the field of either Metaverse/Gaming, Web3/Crypto/Blockchain, AI or XR. In case we have an extra Tuesday in a month, we have a guest from the Creative industries. Tune in, there are more amazing guests and stories to come up in the future.
